Join us for ElderTALK in this community!

ElderTALK will create opportunities for older adults to come together to discuss aging, emotional challenges and opportunities, loneliness, grief, suicide & the impact of aging with the support of a facilitator and peers

ElderTALK will provide an opportunity for seniors to meet together and will serve as a support for many of the participants.
ElderTALK is a forum for discussion where adults from a variety of backgrounds can share wisdom & experiences. ElderTALK is not a therapy group.
ElderTALK will encourage participants to engage in activities they find meaningful while drawing on their collective wisdom & life experiences.
Possible projects emerging from this engagement could include: journaling, poetry writing, life review activities, story-telling, & creation of depression & suicide awareness tools developed by seniors for seniors

Who can join ElderTALK?
Any adult over the age of 55 who is able to participate at one of our 3 sites and make a commitment to attend the group over the course of a few months. Our 3 sites are located across the Wellington & Dufferin and include:

Heritage River Retirement Home (Elora)
The Alzheimer Society Dufferin (Orangeville)
The Guelph Wellington Seniors Association (Evergreen Centre, Guelph)
(Sessions in Drayton with the Seniors’ Centre for Excellence will begin in Spring, 2012)

ElderTALK will begin at the Heritage River Retirement Community on November 8th, 2011 at 2:30pm in the Games Room and will meet every second Tuesday after that.

There is no cost to participate: ElderTALK has been funded by the Ontario Trillium Foundation until June 2012.
